Raising a Smile for Christmas appeal 2024

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust’s charity, Raising Health, is asking local businesses and members of the community to help make Christmas special for inpatients across Leicestershire and Rutland. 

It is expected that across LPT's sites, teams will look after over 600 patients of all ages including many children and young people. This initiative was set up to raise funds enabling each patient to be provided with a gift to open on Christmas day.

Spending the festive period in hospital can be lonely especially for patients who may not get a visit from a family member and by offering a gift can help show that someone has thought about them.

Last year, Raising Health purchased 566 presents for patients across the trust and made patients feel truly special and cared for on Christmas morning. The presents included items such as chocolates, toiletries, craft items, puzzles and blankets. This was made possible through a number of generous donations from the public, local community groups and businesses.
